Q: What is "certified" wood or F.S.C.?
A: Wood labeled F.S.C. (Forest Stewardship Council) are guaranteed to come from forests where the eco-system is managed; not clearcut. All cabinets and wood floors are F.S.C. at Emanate Design.
Q: What is a V.O.C. and why don't I want that in my house?
A: V.O.C. stands for volitile organic compound and are linked to many health concerns.
Q: Why are things labeled "formaldahyde-free"?
A: To let you know that plywood in that product (usually an engineered wood floor or cabinet frame) has No urea formaldahyde, a known carcinogen.
Q: Why is conversion varnish bad? And unnecessary?
A: It is so toxic! And we have finishes equally as strong that are much safer
